(Reported by Husen Liu) To deepen collaboration between schools and between universities and enterprises, and to broaden the channels for high-quality student recruitment and employment platforms for graduates, on May 15, Huiming Pan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Wuhan Institute of Technology (at the director-general level), led a delegation to Wujiashan Middle School in Wuhan for admissions promotion, and then proceeded to Hubei Dinglong Holdings Co., Ltd. for a special campaign of enterprise visits to expand job opportunities. The event was joined by officials from the university’s Office of Admissions and Career Services and the School of Materials Science and Engineering, as well as faculty representatives.

That afternoon, the university's admissions promotion session was held at Wujiashan Middle School. Xianbai Ping, principal of the school, welcomed the visiting delegation, gave an overview of the school's educational achievements and the senior year students' preparation for the college entrance exam, and expressed the hope to deepen inter-school cooperation and build a bridge for channeling outstanding talents.

Huiming Pan first expressed his gratitude for the long-standing support from Wujiashan Middle School, and then gave a brief overview of the university’s distinctive educational features, disciplinary strengths, and prospects for further study and employment. He placed special emphasis on the School of Materials Science and Engineering’s advantages in program development, faculty expertise, research capacity, and talent cultivation, and extended a sincere welcome to outstanding students to apply. Yong Tian, Deputy Director of the Office of Admissions and Career Services, followed with a detailed explanation of the admissions policies, admission rules, and key considerations for filling out college preferences, and took questions on the spot, effectively helping the senior high school students map out their application choices.

Subsequently, Huiming Pan and his delegation visited Hubei Dinglong Holdings Co., Ltd. for an enterprise engagement aimed at expanding employment opportunities. They were warmly received by company management, including Deputy General Manager Jilin Ren and Human Resources Director Ying Zhou.

Both sides then held a special symposium, engaging in in-depth discussions on research collaboration, internships and practical training, graduate employment, and the commercial application of university-industry research outcomes. The meeting also brought in outstanding alumni currently working at the company. Drawing from their own career experiences, the alumni shared personal insights on professional growth and, grounded in real industry job demands, offered practical suggestions for the school’s talent development and students’ career planning. They also expressed a strong willingness to serve as a bridge, helping to advance university-enterprise cooperation and support the career development of their junior schoolmates.

Huiming Pan spoke highly of the career accomplishments the alumni had made in their respective fields. He noted that the school's program layout and research directions are highly aligned with the core business of Dinglong Holdings. Leveraging its strengths in disciplines, scientific research, and talent, the university will precisely address the company's needs in technological R&D and talent acquisition, deepen the integration of industry and education, and cultivate tailor-made, high-quality professionals in new materials, thus supporting the company's technological upgrading and regional industrial development. For its part, the company also expressed its commitment to continuously deepening university-enterprise cooperation, building platforms for internships and employment, and attracting more outstanding graduates from the university to join and grow with the company.

After the meeting, company executives accompanied our university delegation on a tour of the corporate exhibition hall and R&D and production base, giving a detailed overview of the company's development history, core technologies, innovative achievements, and talent acquisition plans.

The event followed a two-pronged approach of "admissions promotion plus enterprise visits to expand employment," which not only smoothed the talent-matching channel between the university and high-quality high schools, but also—through multi-party exchanges involving the enterprise, alumni, and the university—broadened the avenues for graduates to secure high-quality employment and solidified the foundation for industry-education integration. Moving forward, the School of Materials Science and Engineering will continue to deepen university-school and university-enterprise cooperation, refine the full-chain talent cultivation mechanism spanning admissions, training, and employment, and empower the university's high-quality development through high-quality collaboration.
